iLuv iMM747 Audio Cube Hi-Fidelity Speaker Dock
So there we were, unpacking this dock and set of speakers designed for iPod and iPhone labeled as iMM747 Audio Cube. As expected from the online reviews, it was well compatible with the mentioned ones and also with the iTouch, iPad and iPhone 4. On some rare occasions, it would pop a message about the iPhone “not being optimized for it”, but it would disapear after reinserting it a few times, strange. There are 5 simple, basic audio and volume controls and the power button on the front, nothing more than one would need anyway.
It comes in two of our favorite, standard colors – black and white. Alhough the white version kinda steals the Nintendo Wii style with the blue illuminated line under the controls, we’re not going to complain, it’s a nice little touch. The front side has a lot of unused space that could’ve been used for additional features like an alarm clock so it would fit our nightstand even better, but I’m fine since there are hundreds of free apps to do that on our docked iPad 2 (which took a little more effort to dock because of the strange angle of the port).
The iMM747 Audio Cube docks your stuff, charges it and keeps it solid and secure with an unique sliding backplate, which allows you to hold multiple iPods. Its triple speakers sound great, the bass was at just the right levels and it didn’t fry our brains with the treble either, the kids call it “Enhanced jAura Echo Soundcell Technology” these days. Unfortunately, it doesn’t come with a remote control which kinda forces you to keep it close to your working area, but for the price, we expected nothing more or less and hereby approve this buy.
